About two weeks ago I issued my second annual Pinterest Challenge: From Inspiration to Creation and today is the day I share what it is I'll be undertaking for the challenge.
For a few years I was obsessed with those diy pipe shelves that so many bloggers were doing and was certain that when I moved into my own place I'd create some to store something.....and while I still like them I don't really want to make them anymore; I've fallen for a new diy shelving unit.

So, inspired by Molly of Almost Makes Perfect and Jake's House Tour, this month I'll be creating my own shelving unit. It combines my love of wood with that industrial look of the pipe shelves but, I think, it's a little less industrial looking - it's like a slightly sleeker more refined update. The plan is to, for this challenge, create a smaller version to go in my kitchen (working on a kitchen plan post to share next week!) - kinda like this West Elm version that has a very similar feel. In the future I may also create one for the spare bedroom...but let's just stick to one project at a time!
