With apartment hunting and decorating fresh on the brain, I've been making it a habit to stop by my favourite thrift shops (ones I frequented prior to moving abroad). Here are a few things I've picked up recently:
1. I found this southwestern-ish/navajo-ish scarf hanging with the tablecloths. At least I'm pretty certain it's a scarf (albeit a large scarf). I'm debating using it to make a pillow (or two) or using it as is on the foot of a bed...or back of a chair...we'll see. / $5.99
2. I'm in love with this teak bowl. It's nice and substantial and has a beautiful grain. It's in perfect condition and will just need a little bit of oil. / $3.99
3. Bought my first piece of Pyrex! It's a lovely shade of pink (flamingo) and only has a small scratch on one side. / $4.99
4. This rolling pin is gorgeous; the picture doesn't do it justice. The grain is amazing and it feels hand made as opposed to mass made. I'll probably just oil it up and leave it out on the counter for display. / $2.99
5. This cast iron pan is the perfect size for breakfast and brunch; just right for making omelettes. / $4.99
Lots of kitchen related things. Bodes well for my goal of getting into the kitchen more and cooking this year.
Do you visit thrift shops? Any recent finds you're particularly happy with? Man, I love finding a good find at the thrift shop. Even if I just walk outta there with one single item. The price certainly can't be beat and you, I, always feel like I've won big. I love a good deal.
